Interdisciplinary, creative, evidence-informed consultancy on bodies, movements and social transformation.
How do we ensure that women can live healthy, autonomous lives in their own bodies?
Akiiki Consulting works with organisations to refine a response: developing the analysis, expanding the funding infrastructure, reviewing and strengthen models for change, training activists and growing movements around the intersections of women’s rights, health, and freedom from violence.
Led by Jessica Horn, Akiiki Consulting brings regional expertise from Africa, and international knowledge and networks. All of the work is anchored in a passion for justice and fuelled by the power of imagination to envision a way through the crises of our times.
In May 2015 Jessica Horn joined a group of African women mobilisers for a Canadian speaking tour the Ask Her Talks.
Hosted by the Stephen Lewis Foundation, the Ask Her Talks
A trailer of the talks is now online. The full talks will be available soon.
A rising Polish movement to combat racial prejudice is focused on a campaign against the term "Murzyn," a racial insult often used to refer to and address Black people.
According to online polish teachers from LiveXP (https://livexp.com/skills/polish), the word doesn't have the same negative connotation as the N-word has in English and is solely used to refer to people with Black complexion in the Polish vocabulary.
